Terry’s knowledge and skills as a fundraiser are expansive. He has successfully led a wide variety of organizations through numerous multi-million dollar campaigns, helping to raise hundreds of millions of dollars.
Before joining Kinetic Companies in 2007, Terry served as Executive Director of Truman Medical Center Charitable Foundation where he launched the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the 45 year history of Truman Medical Center. He and his staff raised more than $55 million toward a $50 million goal. The campaign involved two J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation challenge grants and one Kresge Foundation challenge grant.
His tenure as Vice President for University Advancement at Park University resulted in many milestones for him and his team. They grew annual giving to $1 million a year; raised more than $30 million toward a variety of capital, program and endowment programs; tripled the number of annual donors; and set an all-time record of more than $1.5 million in trustee support.
Terry holds bachelor and masters degrees from the University of Kansas, has completed numerous continuing education courses to include major gift and planned giving training, and holds the distinction of Certified Fund Raising Executive and has served as President of the Kansas City Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professional. He is also a writer and an inspiring, sought-after speaker.
Terry and his wife live in Independence, Mo. where he is an active member of and volunteer for many civic and professional organizations to include the Council on Philanthropy, Association of Fundraising Professionals and Rotary International.
