image Doing a Good Turn for Goodwill

Collaborative ventures increase visibility for and understanding of participating organizations. Good Turn for Goodwill is a program taking place across the country. For example, thanks to the efforts of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts across Northeast Florida, Goodwill received over 600 additional bags of donated items between January and May of last year. Scouts visited yard sales and offered to pack and transport unsold items to the local Goodwill. Following their hard work, Scouts were given a tour of Goodwill’s facilities and learned how store sales generate funding for programs. Said Goodwill’s area Director of Marketing, “They came away with a much better understanding of how we do what we do and, most important of all, why it’s so important.”

garmin Ask Kinetic!

Do you have a tough fundraising question?
Send your questions to askhartsook@kineticfundraising.com and we will respond by email. Your question may be featured in a future eHartsook on Scouting.

QUESTION: We’re a little concerned about things we hear in the news. What should we do differently this year than in years past?

Every year holds new uncertainties, but also opportunities. Our clients have continued to raise money throughout every economic cycle for over three decades. No matter what you hear, remember these timeless principles: Somebody is making money all the time; when everyone is moving in one direction, opportunity often lies in the opposite direction; so, stay the course. Don’t get distracted. Keep raising money.
