$6-Million Campaign Crosses the Finish Line
Center of Grace (Olathe, Kan.) met its $1-million challenge grant from the Mabee Foundation to support the nonprofit’s $6-million capital campaign: Growing With Grace. $300,000 Mabee Foundation Challenge Grant Met
Heart to Heart International (Kansas City) announced the nonprofit health organization has met its Mabee Foundation Challenge Grant. Heart to Heart International was required to raise $2.9 million for updates to its facility to meet the $300,000 challenge. Recognition by the Mabee Foundation proved to be a significant motivator for obtaining the remaining donations necessary to receive the grant.

$1-Million Gift for Transforming Education
Fundamental Learning Center (Wichita, Kan.) received a $1-million gift from a Wichita philanthropist to advance the organization’s Transforming Education capital campaign. The campaign will support new construction for a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired building. Said FLC founder and executive director Jeanine Phillips, “With this extraordinary gift, from an amazing person, we can continue to push toward our goal of building a laboratory school that will change lives and give children new opportunities. The school will be a beacon for children, their families and educators who are concerned about low-literacy and dyslexia.”

$500,000 Challenge Grant to Labette Community College
Labette Community College (Parsons, Kan.) was awarded a $500,000 Challenge Grant from the Mabee Foundation toward the Labette Community College Foundation’s Pathways to the Future Athletic and Wellness Complex capital campaign. The Foundation must secure the remaining gifts and pledges by January 14, 2021 to receive the grant funding. The campaign will support major renovations and upgrades to the current gymnasium and an expansion to house classroom space for Exercise Science, Athletic Training, and Physical Education programs; training areas and facilities for LCC’s athletic teams; and a fitness center for all students.
