$1.3-million Challenge Grant to Children's Safety Center

Children’s Safety Center of Washington County (Springdale, Ark.) received a $1.3-million challenge grant from Mabee Foundation toward its $12.5-million campaign. The nonprofit’s mission is to empower children to overcome abuse and begin to trust, hope and heal. The grant will support the construction of a new, larger building to house CSC’s life-changing programs.

Stronger Workforce, Greater Community Campaign Receives Gift

The State Fair Community College Foundation (Sedalia, Mo.) received an $18,000 gift from the Gene Haas Foundation for the College’s Precision Machining Technology program. The Gene Haas Foundation’s primary goal is to build skills in the machining industry by providing grants and scholarships for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine technology students and National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials. The College’s Precision Machining Technology program’s classrooms and labs will be moved from the Fielding Technical Center into the new Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center. The new center will increase the College’s capacity to deliver workforce training to more students.

Starlight Supporters Honored During National Philanthropy Day Awards

Starlight Theatre (Kansas City) supporters were recognized during the 2021 National Philanthropy Day Awards. Board member and Starlight supporter, Amy Guerich, and Starlight legacy donor, Doug Jones, were honored for their extraordinary efforts. Starlight is dedicated to producing, presenting and promoting an exceptional arts experience by delivering accessible live entertainment for all audiences, superior theatre arts education, impactful outreach programs and events that utilize this iconic city-owned venue.
