$2.5-million Sunderland Foundation Gift to KidsTLC
KidsTLC (Olathe, Kan.) received a $2.5-million gift from The Sunderland Foundation. Grants from the Foundation help build the places where families in distress find help and healing, where young minds grow and thrive and where communities come together for celebration and inspiration. KidsTLC’s continuum of care strives to set children and their families on the best path forward to a safe, healthy future. Its collaborative approach blends the expertise of varied specialties to address mental and behavioral health challenges that hinder a child from thriving in their home community. This gift will aid KidsTLC in an expansion effort to help more children find hope.
Community School of the Arts Raises $415,000 in One Month
Community School of the Arts (Fort Smith, Ark.) received a total of $415,000 in August including three gifts of $100,000 or more. The mission of CSA is to develop confident leaders and outstanding citizens through educational and artistic excellence. The organization’s Inspiring Excellence campaign has surpassed the $5-million mark in capital pledges toward its $7.5-million goal to build the Center for the Creative Arts campus on Riverfront Drive in Fort Smith.
Lyric Opera's Fall Soundscapes in the City Concerts
Lyric Opera of Kansas City (Kansas City) will feature opera residents and apprentice artists during its Soundscapes in the City series. These free, outdoor concerts will showcase hits from opera and musical theatre as well as vocal jazz standards and show tunes. Founded in 1958 and now one of the nation’s premiere regional opera companies, Lyric Opera of Kansas City brings high-quality live operatic performances to the people of the Kansas City and a five-state region.
