$12.5-million Goal for Children’s Safety Center of Washington County
Children’s Safety Center (Springdale, Ark.) recently closed on a $1.8-million land purchase for a new building that will better serve its clients’ needs. CSC is a child-friendly, family-centered organization that coordinates the investigation, prosecution process and treatment services to prevent further trauma to children affected by sexual and physical abuse. Once the 15,200-square-foot building is completed, the organization will relocate from leased space in downtown Springdale to the new, specially designed facility. Close to 40% of the campaign’s $12.5-million goal has already been raised. The campaign will support capital, ongoing support and endowment.

Transforming Education for Children with Dyslexia and Other Reading Difficulties
Fundamental Learning Center (Wichita, Kan.) is a privately-funded, educational nonprofit serving children with significant reading, writing and spelling difficulties, including those with dyslexia through identification, private education and teacher/parent education and training. The organization has been generously gifted well over $19 million and plans to exceed its $20-million goal. FLC raised an extraordinary $10.9 million in 2020 toward its campaign, Transforming Education.

Stronger Workforce, Greater Community
State Fair Community College Foundation (Sedalia, Mo.) will provide expanded lab and classroom spaces for training in welding, precision machining, industrial technology, leadership and supervisory skills and logistics in its Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center. The institution received a $250,000 gift from Russell and Julie Childers toward its ongoing campaign. In addition, the campaign will help increase the College’s capacity to deliver workforce training and strengthen the area economy.

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City Receives a Gift of Significance
Lyric Opera of Kansas City (Kansas City) received a generous gift of $1.4-million from a donor who has asked to remain anonymous. The gift will help support the nonprofit’s capital and endowment goals. The Lyric produces live operatic performances that reflect the highest artistic standards of the profession and enrich the entire Kansas City area and surrounding region.
