Kinetic Chairman and CEO Dr. Matthew J. Beem, PhD was appointed as the Institute’s first board chair.

Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University is the world’s first school dedicated solely to the study and teaching of philanthropy. IU established the field of philanthropic studies; launched the nation’s first bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees in the field; and created the nation’s first endowed chair in fundraising – The Hartsook Chair in Fundraising.

Henry W. Bloch School of Management, Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership, University of Missouri-KC (Kansas City) enhances performance and effectiveness in the nonprofit community through education, research and service. Kinetic’s connection with the School is both personal and professional. Matthew J. Beem earned his doctor of philosophy in organizational behavior and higher education administration the School, where he defended his dissertation, Performance-Based Fundraiser Compensation: An Analysis of Preference, Prevalence and Effect. Dr. Brian Klaas, Dean of the School, serves on Kinetic’s Global Advisory Council; and Kinetic and the UMKC Henry W. Bloch School of Management host the annual Power of Philanthropy Virtual Summit.
